What is Cold Laser Therapy?
Cold laser therapy, also known as Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) or photobiomodulation, uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate cellular activity in injured or inflamed tissues. Unlike surgical or heat-based lasers, cold lasers do not burn tissue or generate significant heat.
Research suggests the light energy may help increase cellular energy production (ATP), improve blood circulation, reduce inflammatory chemicals, and support tissue repair processes. Because of these effects, cold laser therapy has been studied for conditions involving pain, inflammation, tendon injuries, muscle strains, joint pain, and soft tissue healing.
